The Funny Story of the Day
When you work in passenger transportation, you know that every trip can hold a surprise. Sometimes, it’s a passenger who forgets their bag, phone, or wallet. And sometimes, the surprise is… a herd of wild boars!
A Regular Night (or So We Thought)
It was late at night when we picked up our customers from the airport. They had traveled for hours and only wanted to reach their accommodation in Kalamos. We, on the other hand, being used to these routes, knew that driving through the mountains at night required extra caution.
The road was dark, there was no traffic at all, and we were driving calmly until… SUDDENLY, out of the complete darkness, an entire herd of wild boars suddenly emerged in front of us! The driver reacted instantly, hit the brakes, and we all froze.
“Ooo fresh meat!”
At that moment, we wondered whether the wild boars were also startled or if they had simply come for… a social visit. We hadn’t yet decided how to react when, from the back seats, we heard someone loudly exclaim: “Ooo fresh meat!” 🍖😂
The customers didn’t seem worried at all. On the contrary, they laughed and commented on how “authentic” their Greek experience was. We, however, weren’t sure whether to laugh or start figuring out an escape plan. Since the whole family of wild boars was there—both large and small—it was a real family reunion! Parents, uncles, cousins, grandparents, everyone had gathered for their evening stroll.
After a few minutes (which felt like an eternity), the wild boars decided to continue their stroll, and we resumed our journey. The customers had a great laugh, and we gained yet another funny story to tell.
Since then, every time we pass by that spot, we take an extra look—just in case the family decides to visit us again! 🚗🐗😄
